I think its safe to say that we may have overpacked, just a little bit.  Narrowing down our belongings was no easy task, especially for Julia, who insisted that all 15 stuffed animals travel the world with us. We rolled up to the airport in style. 2 cars, 12 bags, 5 people, and one awful idea. “I’m will not be carrying that guitar.” -Mimi

Airport security, usually just a quick stop for our well-traveled family, was brought to a prompt stop when an entire bottle of Jergens tanning lotion was confiscated from Mimi’s backpack. She proceeded to tell the TSA official, that she “just wanted to look cute.”

The flight to Atlanta was quick. Everyone slept except for Julia, who incessantly tapped my arm to show me the progress she had made on Club Penguin account. This is going to be a long 9 months. Savoring the last few minutes with a data plan, I proceeded to ask Siri whether there were Starbucks in Ecuador, to which the response was “I have never seen a Starbucks here, but you can try the following alternatives.” This was going to be a REALLY long 9 months.

All was well however, when we arrived in Ecuador and found Nana and her family waiting for us. We have definitely missed her.
